All Party Parliamentary Committee on Fit and Healthy Childhood

Since January 2019, in addition being an external member of the All Party Parliamentary Committee on Fit & Healthy Childhood where I advise on the UK’s Prevent strategy and issues linked to extremism, I was appointed to the Committee’s working group examining digital culture on child health and movement. Based on my research on Prevent and extremism I have contributed to a report on the impact online extremism has on childrens’ mental development which is added to a wider report to be submitted to Parliament. The Report that will be submitted in autumn 2019 to Parlaiment is ‘The influence of Digital Culture on Child Health and Movement’ where the lead on the Report is Helen Clark from the Committee. The purpose of the Report is to advise Parliament in order to adopt policies to minimise harmful effects digital culture ranging from various social media and internet sites.
